In 2023 I'm working towards a softer, modern Impressionistic style that reflects my desire to tell a story of living a beautiful, simple life. An ode to slow living, and finding time for the beauty in the everyday. This painting was a preparatory piece to investigate the feelings this image would create. The painting was painted swiftly with loose expressive brush strokes to capture the essence, rather than photographic realism. It speaks of softness and slow living. It has an organic quality, as if she is in mid-gardening session.
