Subtly stormy, this green-blue landscape is all about country living - a vast view of trees and paddocks, with a gorgeously grey/blue sky.
It reminds me of childhood day trips to the countryside, my hands and nose pressed against the car window, enviously observing magnificent endless views of farmland and scrub stretching out from either side of the highway.
This painting was created with only a handful of colours and many layers of pigment (some of which are translucent to give a beautiful soft effect), keeping the overall artwork vibrant and saturated, with moody dramatic darks, soft pale greens and greys, little pops of warm pink, and lovely variations of colour and tone in between.
It would look sensational framed, however this is not absolutely necessary as the painting is ready to hang, right out of the box. The edges of the canvas have been painted as “wrap around” which means that if it is hung in a hallway, you will start to see the scene emerge as you approach the art.
The canvas itself is very high quality, with strong stretcher bars and corner braces, and the cotton canvas is triple primed and quite thick at 450gsm. I only invest in top quality gallery standard canvases for my art.
