"Eucalyptus Desire" is an explosion of colour and a celebration of summer.
It is searing hot today - 40 degrees or more - and so fiery hues were the natural colour choice: vermilion and scarlet, complemented by a jade/aqua background and splashes of violet & blue tying it all together. We have lots of eucalypts growing here at home, and they are my favourite subject to paint.
Not intended to be a photographic representation of the Australian landscape, this is an 'impression' of the landscape which I love, using a subject we are all familiar with. I hope it has made an impression on you as well.
Eucalyptus Desire has been painted with Matisse Structure and Flow Professional Artists Acrylic Colour with an impressionist feel, followed by palette knife layering and blending. Many layers of paint provide depth and interest to the subject and the impasto feel of the paint provides a buttery texture to the finish.
It is painted on heavy duty 380gsm premium cotton canvas, stretched and double-stapled over kiln dried heavy duty stretcher bars. It has a wire and D-rings on which to hang the art, rated to 10kg, and is of course, ready to hang. It has also been varnished with a satin finish for additional protection. It comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and has been signed back and front of the artwork.
"Eucalyptus Desire" is part of my ~Eucalyptus Colour~ series.
