We Australians know all too well the pain and torment our poor country has endured in recent months, but there have been good times too. The good times have been the focus of my most recent artworks.
A few weeks ago, dark clouds laden with precious rain loomed over our land and gave us a well-needed drenching. Colour has returned to the valley and the animals who rely on grasses and dams can frolic once again.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Luscious thick brushstrokes and generosity of high-quality pigment are used to create depth, texture and atmosphere to this artwork featuring a fence, paddocks, rows of trees, mountain ranges and a heavy sky. There are also sheep in the foreground and the background – can you spot them?
Please note, the sides are left unpainted – please see the picture depicting this. I am more than happy to paint this in a colour to suit you, so please let me know if you are interested.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born into a highly creative family of musicians, authors and painters, and learned from a young age how to observe and appreciate nature and my environment. So, as an adult, there is no surprise I have embraced art as my full time career and passion. Working almost exclusively in oil paint, my art is heavily influenced by the indigenous landscape, particularly of the Northern Territory where I lived intermittently in 2011 and 2012, and my home in central Victoria where I live entirely off-grid on rambling bushland acreage.
Drawing on the talent of Australia's wonderful plein air and impressionism artists, I prefer to complete a painting in a single sitting in order to capture the light and movement of the subject at hand, yielding a free, loose style, and using a limited palette of colours. My art has been described by my peers as ‘semi-abstract semi-realism’ and demonstrates my immense (and sometimes obsessive) love for nature.

Like something similar in a different size or using different colours? I am happy to discuss commission requests.
Please note, I do not produce prints of my artwork.
