Ravine

Roma Gorge, situated in the Northen Territory, is a stark, ancient landscape, softened by grasses and ghost gums, and is an oasis to birds and reptiles. I loved capturing the colour and texture of the rocks surrounding the calm, mineral-infused, tadpole-filled pond. The leafless gum tree you see in the middle of the painting is almost transparent, a quiet reminder of the fragility of this landscape.

My little studio is nestled into the bush in central Victoria, surrounded by gum trees and a noisy population of birds, and overlooks the mountains and pasture adjacent to the Goulburn River.
