Rocky Stream

A day trip to Marysville inspired this little acrylic painting. I sat here under the shade of trees watching magpies take a bath in the shallow area of the stream. Dappled sunlight shone through the overhead gum trees, and the sound of water trickling between rocks was truly magical.

This painting is my expression of the sounds and the sights of the day; using layers of acrylic paint and my love of soft pink and gold, I have attempted to capture the feeling of the day rather than a true representation. I believe sometimes the feeling of a beautiful day can linger in my art, and I hope I’ve done that here.
