Summer-stunned eucalypts;
Speckled lilac shade
under an impossible cerulean sky;
Stripped bark, falling leaves,
shimmering in weightless breeze.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was created with a heavily-laden stiff square brush, and finished with more layers and finer brushes. The oil paint is really luscious and saturated; and the colours have retained their bright clear characteristics. The result is bright and cheerful; colour almost leaping off the linen.
The background has been left unpainted however it is sealed for protection – the natural weave of the linen is the perfect backdrop and creates pleasant negative space.
MATERIALS
• High standard professional-quality materials used.
• Professional artist oil paint with high quality pigment
• Gallery standard pure linen, which has been primed/sealed with transparent gesso, stretched and stapled over stretcher bars.
• 30cm wide x 30cm high x 3.5cm deep
• Picture wire on D-rings, and felt pads in bottom corners to provide airflow behind the art and to protect your wall.
FRAMING OPTIONS
There is no need to frame this artwork, however a custom-built floating Tasmanian oak frame can be fitted for an additional cost.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born into a highly creative family of musicians, authors, actors and painters, and learned from a young age how to observe and appreciate nature and my environment. So, as an adult, there is no surprise I have embraced art as my full time career and passion. Working almost exclusively in oil paint, my art is heavily influenced by the indigenous landscape, particularly of the Northern Territory, and my home in central Victoria where I live entirely off-grid on rambling bushland acreage.
Drawing on the talent of Australia's wonderful plein air and impressionism artists, I prefer to complete a painting in a single sitting (“alla prima”) in order to capture the light and movement of the subject at hand, yielding a free, loose style, and using a limited palette of colours. My art aims to demonstrate my immense (and sometimes obsessive) love for nature.
