This painting was inspired by a recent early Spring walk in the high country (Mount Buffalo National Park to be specific). It was very early and a thick fog blanketed the mountain. The usual vivid colours of the bush were muted within layers of mist, except for where the golden highlights of wattle burst through.

Artist Bio
I am a Melbourne (Naarm) based artist and a painter of landscapes. Over the years I have developed a unique style that interprets the natural world using a mix of realistic and impressionist elements.
The diversity to be found across this continent is an endless source of inspiration. From temperate rainforests and rocky deserts to the pockets of local bush around my local suburb, there is always moments of wonder. This is what keeps me coming back to the canvas again and again. To take those moments and try to capture that quality; the energy, light, what emotion I felt in that time. To distil and respond to what made me come to a stand still in the first place. Then, to create a work that might just evoke a similar reaction.
