Artwork Description

The ubiquitous corner hotel, and a meeting – awkwardness and uncertainty is in the air.
This painting is based on the iconic (and controversial) 1853 Ritz in Geelong which has been disused and in disrepair for decades. The site is now to be redeveloped. Hope some of its historic features are saved.
This painting has a deep profile stretcher edge (3 cm) with edges painted. It is sealed with polymer and solvent based varnishes.

Satin varnished (polymer + turps based final) with hangers.

Artist Bio

This art explores colour, form, pattern and figuration and recompose the shapes and shadows of nature and the built environment. It is based on realism with a distortion factor, canvassing aspects of the ordinary and the extraordinary and evoking a sense of the social dynamics and psychological layers of identity and place.
