Based on part of a backyard pool I had previously painted this painting is a study of essential shapes and colour. It explores the contrast between the organic and the organised, built environment.

It is based on realism with a distortion factor, canvassing aspects of the ordinary and the extraordinary and evoking a sense of the social dynamics and psychological layers of identity and place.
