The Resting 2

I have made a group of black backgrounded paintings developed from life drawings created over a few years and themed around ‘The Resting’, as the poses are of the figure in a reclining position.
The work is in acrylic paint on heavy weight 200gsm paper (35x35cm) mounted on white painted board (39x39cm), with white edges (1.6cm), with all varnished in polymer satin finish. Hanger attached and ready to hang.

It is based on realism with a distortion factor, canvassing aspects of the ordinary and the extraordinary and evoking a sense of the social dynamics and psychological layers of identity and place.
