If you are looking for something a bit different to bring your room and your imagination to life - 'Dying To Feel Alive' is the painting for you!
It's a phrase that is relevant to our extensive time in lockdown (especially here in Melbourne), but also applies to a larger problem in our society where we often write off older people and see them as a burden on our community.
The use of seperate canvases symbolises the compartmentalising of our lives whilst the corrugated iron fence keeps out the unwanted (or keeps the fun stuff for the privileged few?).
A floating man can also be seen in the sky, or is it just in the old mans imagination?
This piece is made up of four seperate canvases that are securely joined together to hang as one piece (see photos for reference).

ABOUT GEOFF
"What I have always loved about stencil artwork is that the detail is not always needed, as the human brain automatically fills in the gaps, therefore engaging the viewer in the painting without them realising it. I love that it combines a wide range of artistic skills - from photography, digital manipulation, detailed hand cutting of stencils, spray painting, and more traditional hand painted brushwork. I love the challenge of bringing all of these different disciplines together to create a finished piece that invites an emotional response, but also the opportunity for the viewer to look beyond the colours and composition to see hidden details, extra meaning or unexpected touches.β
