I named this one 'Here Comes The Sun' because of the yellow on its belly. The humble Wattle bird belongs to the honeyeater family and owes its name not to a preference for wattle trees, but to the red fleshy growths or "wattles" that hang from its cheeks. At first sight the wattler appears rather drab, but on closer inspection it's quite a striking bird and quite an unsung favourite of mine.
