Whilst experimenting with combining abstract and stencils - I found I quite like Australian birds!
This is a large statement piece that depicts nature at its exuberant best, with a hint of humour and bucket loads of colour - this painting will bring life to any room!
The background is made up of multiple layers of paint, with real leaves, branches and gum nuts used as templates to spray paint their impressions. The red tailed cockatoos are a combination of hand-cut stencils and spray paint, finished off with hand painted brushwork.
Ready to hang on a professional quality stretched canvas, the image continues around all sides.

ABOUT GEOFF
"What I have always loved about stencil artwork is that the detail is not always needed, as the human brain automatically fills in the gaps, therefore engaging the viewer in the painting without them realising it. I love that it combines a wide range of artistic skills - from photography, digital manipulation, detailed hand cutting of stencils, spray painting, and more traditional hand painted brushwork. I love the challenge of bringing all of these different disciplines together to create a finished piece that invites an emotional response, but also the opportunity for the viewer to look beyond the colours and composition to see hidden details, extra meaning or unexpected touches.β
