Slow Tide, is my impression of a tropical beach. Having grown up in Fiji I feel a sense of calm whenever I see these intense aquas and blues. This is my impression of the constant movement of the tide and the changing light and colour this creates.
This painting is a mixed media artwork incorporating, acrylic paints, inks, mediums and a satin varnish. I use a textured towel with paint and glazes to give this work life. It is a very messy business, one I developed when I was designing textiles.
Has strung back for easy hanging.
