Githabul Dreaming represents my connection to Githabul Country and the stories carried through Country, songline and generations.
The artwork depicts the three sacred Brother Mountains — Mount Barney, traditionally known as Barnham, meaning “brother”; Mount Lindesay, known as Jungalbunj; and Mount Warning, known as Woolumbin. The mountains are connected through songline, a traditional way of carrying stories, knowledge and cultural connection across Country.
The flowing river represents the waterways that connect the mountains and Country, with waterholes along the journey representing places used by Githabul people. The artwork also reflects the sacred sites and cultural connections held within the landscape.
