Collecting Magic Stones honours a sacred practice of the Githabul people, one of the few recorded Aboriginal tribes known to use precious stones for healing. These stones—quartz, sapphires, and other crystals—were gathered with care and carried in specially woven bags, used only by their rightful owner. Entrusted to the magic clever men, the stones held spiritual power and were never shared or touched by others.
This dot painting reflects the reverence of that tradition, with soft white and pink tones symbolising purity, healing, and ancestral knowledge. The weaving patterns and stone motifs evoke the sacred bond between land, spirit, and ceremony. Painted with quality acrylics on rolled canvas, this piece is a tribute to cultural wisdom and the quiet strength of Githabul lore.
