This dot painting of the Sydney Opera House is more than a depiction of an iconic landmark—it’s a tribute to family and place. The Opera House stands on Bennelong Point, a site rich in Aboriginal history and named after Woollarawarre Bennelong, a respected Eora elder and intermediary between cultures.

For me, it holds personal meaning: my father worked on the glass windows of the Opera House as a young man, helping shape one of Australia’s most recognisable buildings. Through dot work and earthy tones, this piece honours both ancestral connection and family legacy—where culture, architecture, and memory converge.

since 1993 I have painted professionally and loved every minute of it. My biggest influence in both art and life is my Dad. He was a successful artist,storyteller, community elder and traditional man. Though sadly he has passed now I hold strong my ties to my tribes and respect and protect our stories. Most of my art recounts my family stories passed on by Dad,mum,nan & great grandparents. I come from the Gidabul/Ngarkabul/Widjabul on mums side & Wonnarua/ Dhunghutti on my Dads.

I also share my passion for art by facilitating workshops for children teaching them all about my wonderful culture and art. I am very fortunate to work with and mentor vulnerable women both indigenous and non-indigenous through art, listening and sharing. I hold yarning circles with the indigenous women at a womens rehabilitation centre. we are able to hold such a sacred space really creates a safe space for healing.
