Artwork Description

I love colour and to put them together in a pleasing way. On the day I painted this I wanted to use a lot of bright colours. As the work progressed I could see that it represented many units coming together and becoming a traffic jam. I thought about this concept and thought how it could equally apply to a mind jam when you begin a new project. You know what outcome is required, you then gather information, add it to your own knowledge and experience and initially you have a traffic jam.
I love all the bright colours and how they interplay to create a dynamic picture that is open to interpretation by the viewer. I think it will make people look, ponder and draw their own conclusions.
I use artist quality paints, vanish and canvases for all my artworks. I have used acrylic paint for this artwork.

Artist Bio

I have always been creative, enjoying to draw since 3 years old. However, art wasn't a prominent part of my life until several challenging and tragic family events occurred. Then in 2010 I went to TAFE and completed certificates I, II, and IV in visual art and I haven't looked back since. I currently paint using oils and acrylic.

My favourite images always come from the natural world, usually during my walks. I will see a scene where the light brings a rare moment of beauty that I want to capture for myself to relive and others to enjoy also. I photograph the scene and use it as the basis of my work but then use my memory of the moment to complete the painting.

Realism is my preferred style. I enjoy other styles between projects for variety. Recently I have been trying to represent my ideas as information visualisation abstracts.

I am very concerned about climate change and the threat to our beautiful world. My paintings capture that beauty and hopefully inspires us all to take care of our home.
