Artwork Description

A lady toad drawn in the Rococo style wearing a gorgeous wig made out of snails and irises.
The toad is modelled after Marie Antoinette and other high class women of the same time period.

Artist Bio

Iko Maddox was born in Tokyo Japan.
Growing up in a drab inner city Tokyo suburb,
she has used her imagination as an escape from
her hyper urban environment.

Her watercolour paintings are playful juxtapositions
of animals into people role plays.
They are bright, cheerful and colourful and above all
dynamic.

She enjoys figurative art which she can apply to
different genres including fashion and botanical
portraits. Moreover, she emphasises humour as
the foundation and inspiration of her art.
