"Chocolate factory with hanging lanterns "
Winner of Art Extravaganza prize on The Gold Coast 2019.
My painting was inspired by my visit to a chocolate factory in New Zealand. Though it doesn't look exactly the same, I thought combining the little village with the pathway up the hill would add that whimsical element to it. Those windows and signs indicate a sweet and delightful way of life in small homes, and it makes me daydream of a retreat to a country townsite surrounded by nature and enjoying the aroma of all the goodness of home-made goods and delicatessen.
It's not uncommon for art to take you places, and I often lose myself in some scenes of quiet serenity while painting scenes like that.
Wondrous scene of trailing and exploring, coming across a little factory, where the chocolate is being produced of different variations and stored. A happy place , where one can indulge and taste all the goodness of the chocolate.
