Artwork Description

Emu with Tunnel Vision was inspired by the idea of focus, resilience, and quiet determination.
I imagined the emu as a hardworking character, moving forward with purpose, even when the world feels narrow or demanding.
The miner’s helmet and intense gaze reflect concentration and perseverance, while the warm, earthy tones suggest effort, labour, and inner strength.
This painting explores how we push ahead through our own tunnels—trusting instinct, staying alert, and keeping our eyes fixed on what lies beyond the darkness.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
