Fiesta Cactus

As an artist, I find inspiration in the vibrant colours and rich culture of hispanic cultures. My latest creation, a cartoonish cactus in a pot, shows the essence of this theme. Through the use of bold colours and playfulness , this little guy exudes happiness and joy, even with all the prickles.
This piece celebrates the latino spirit of festivity and resilience. The red goggles and hat give a nod to traditional Mexican attire, while the blooming flowers atop the cactus symbolise growth and renewal. By adding these elements, I hope to bring a message of optimism and strength in the face of adversity.
This painting shows my love for the Mexican culture and its vibrant, lively energy. I hope it brings a smile to those who see it and encourages them to embrace the beauty and diversity of our world.

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
