Artwork Description

Garden beneath the tides

In this piece, I imagined the ocean as a living garden, blooming with unusual flowers, shells, and stars.
The inspiration came from exploring coastlines, studying the patterns left behind by tides, and thinking about how beauty can thrive in the most unexpected places.
I wanted the colours to feel lush yet weathered, like nature’s own patchwork quilt, stitched together by movement and mineral.
The central pool of blue is a moment of calm, while the surrounding organisms create gentle chaos and curiosity.
As I painted, I thought about growth, interconnectedness, and the secret ecosystems that carry on without us.
This textured painting is a celebration of underwater life and its quiet determination.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
