Original Artwork's Description

As an artist, I have always been intrigued by the combination of animals and human characteristics. When I saw the Marvel character Rocket Raccoon, I knew I wanted to create a painting inspired by him. My "Guardian of the city" painting shows a raccoon wearing glasses, a red jacket with a furry collar like a pilot's jacket, a jean shirt underneath, and a belt across his waist, ready for action.
The inspiration behind this painting comes from the idea of a raccoon being an unlikely hero, just like Rocket Raccoon. Despite their small size and reputation for being mischievous, raccoons are incredibly intelligent and resourceful animals. They adapt quickly to new situations and can be fierce when necessary. I wanted to capture this spirit in my painting and show that even the smallest and most unexpected creatures can make a big impact.
Through this painting, I hope to inspire others to see the potential in all creatures, great and small. We should never underestimate what someone, or something, is capable of achieving.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
