Artwork Description

Little Miss Fruitcake

A lot might be going on in the head of this young woman. She is a dreamer, a creator, a lover of colour, vibrancy, and flavour. Occasionally, she can be silly and goofy, and another time, she might be quiet and serious. There are times when she needs to take a moment to reflect on the glorious aspects of life that surround her and remember the wonderful things about it. Her life is full of movement and flow, and she is easily able to adapt to changes that life brings to her as well as to changes that grow her.

Creating textures, adding stencil work and blending beautiful colours together was a real pleasure for me to do with this piece. The brush strokes in this painting are very fine, and there is a lot of contrast between some of the elements that you see.

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
