This piece is inspired by my love of bright, story filled towns and the joyful symbolism of sunflowers from my Ukrainian heritage.
Growing up, sunflowers were everywhere, fields of gold, embroidered textiles, and childhood stories, so it felt natural to bring them into this playful, textured townscape.
Three towering sunflowers stand like proud guardians, almost like the unofficial mayors of this quirky village, watching over the colourful buildings with a gentle sense of humour.
I wanted the texture to feel almost three dimensional, inviting you to reach out and trace the petals, rooftops, and leafy details, as if you’re walking down the lane yourself.
This painting celebrates imagination, resilience, and the cheerful chaos of creative living.
It’s for those who love art that makes them smile, wander, and dream.
For me, “Sunflower Lane” isn’t just a painting, it’s a joyful journey rooted in culture and whimsy.
