Artwork Description

Sunlit Reef invites you into a radiant underwater world where colour, movement, and light come together in a dreamy, natural scene.
Inspired by my love for nature’s quiet sanctuaries and the spiritual calm found beneath the surface, this piece reflects that longing for escape and connection — a place where the underwater world, land, and sky all feel part of the same gentle story.

I sometimes find myself drawn to coral reefs when I travel or snorkel, mesmerised by their hidden cities of life, and this painting grew from those memories of floating weightlessly while watching fish swirl like butterflies.

At the heart of the composition is a magnificent coral formation, its branches stretching upward as if reaching for the sun. Shades of orange, pink, and violet glow across its textured surface, each crevice alive with tiny darting fish.
Rays of sunlight filter through the water, casting soft, rippling patterns across the sandy floor.
Swirling brushstrokes mimic the gentle movement of waves, while a glossy finish adds depth and luminosity, enhancing the sense of being submerged in warm, shimmering light.

Measuring 80x160 cm and signed on the front, Sunlit Reef brings vibrancy, serenity, and a touch of wonder to any space.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
