Anchored in Blue

Two small boats rest upon luminous turquoise waters, surrounded by shifting reflections, movement and light. Rich layers of textured acrylic capture the energy of the sea, while flashes of ochre, yellow, violet and red bring warmth and life to the composition. Painted with expressive, gestural marks, this contemporary coastal work invites the viewer into a moment of calm while retaining the ever-changing movement of the water.

If you like my art have fun with me. I enjoy all subject matter, however, the subject itself can determine the medium I choose to work with, it may require the fluidity and beauty of diluted acrylic or the direct impact of thick acrylic/oil paints to convey my personal vision. My approach may be fast and spontaneous or could take many hours, days to complete my goal. I enjoy the challenge of impressionistic work as well as an intuitive, contemporary approach to a subject which can allow true creativity to shine. Above all I am seeking a sense of balance, harmony and inner artistic enjoyment. I have exhibited at numerous art shows and have received many awards.
Art is part of my life and every moment is not lost but spent painting, teaching and what to create next.
