Golden banksia rhapsody

Golden Banksia Rhapsody is an expressive celebration of Australia’s distinctive native flora. Golden banksia blooms emerge through a lively network of gestural marks, layered colour and energetic brushwork, creating a sense of movement and wild, untamed beauty.
Warm ochres, golds and burnt oranges are contrasted with cool blue-greens and delicate whites, while the softly textured background allows the flowers to remain the focus. Rather than depicting the flowers botanically, I have explored their character through expressive mark-making and contemporary impressionistic strokes.
A vibrant statement piece for collectors who love Australian landscapes and botanicals interpreted in a fresh, contemporary way.

If you like my art have fun with me. I enjoy all subject matter, however, the subject itself can determine the medium I choose to work with, it may require the fluidity and beauty of diluted acrylic or the direct impact of thick acrylic/oil paints to convey my personal vision. My approach may be fast and spontaneous or could take many hours, days to complete my goal. I enjoy the challenge of impressionistic work as well as an intuitive, contemporary approach to a subject which can allow true creativity to shine. Above all I am seeking a sense of balance, harmony and inner artistic enjoyment. I have exhibited at numerous art shows and have received many awards.
