Artwork Description

I love the pelicans especially when they gather near the fishermen that are arriving from their fishing trip.
The Australian pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) is a large waterbird in the family Pelecanidae, widespread on the inland and coastal waters of Australia and New Guinea, also in Fiji, parts of Indonesia and as a vagrant in New Zealand. It is a predominantly white bird with black wings and a pink bill. It has been recorded as having the longest bill of any living bird. It mainly eats fish, but will also consume birds and scavenge for scraps if the opportunity arises.
So big and unique in their look I like to portray them on canvas by using soft marine colors and using texture and broad brush strokes.
A lovely painting that would suit any home especially a contemporary look.

Artist Bio

If you like my art have fun with me. I enjoy all subject matter, however, the subject itself can determine the medium I choose to work with, it may require the fluidity and beauty of diluted acrylic or the direct impact of thick acrylic/oil paints to convey my personal vision. My approach may be fast and spontaneous or could take many hours, days to complete my goal. I enjoy the challenge of impressionistic work as well as an intuitive, contemporary approach to a subject which can allow true creativity to shine. Above all I am seeking a sense of balance, harmony and inner artistic enjoyment. I have exhibited at numerous art shows and have received many awards.
Art is part of my life and every moment is not lost but spent painting, teaching and what to create next.
