Wattles in the night

In this 36cm square acrylic work, I wanted to presents a tactile, imaginative interpretation of the Australian wattle. Utilizing a dynamic interplay of brushwork and palette knife application, the piece captures the 'essence' of the bloom—a celebratory explosion of golden impasto against a deep, nocturnal background. By moving beyond botanical literalism, the work evokes the fleeting brilliance and resilient energy of the bush in flower, transforming a familiar natural icon into a textured study of light and creative intuition."

If you like my art have fun with me. I enjoy all subject matter, however, the subject itself can determine the medium I choose to work with, it may require the fluidity and beauty of diluted acrylic or the direct impact of thick acrylic/oil paints to convey my personal vision. My approach may be fast and spontaneous or could take many hours, days to complete my goal. I enjoy the challenge of impressionistic work as well as an intuitive, contemporary approach to a subject which can allow true creativity to shine. Above all I am seeking a sense of balance, harmony and inner artistic enjoyment. I have exhibited at numerous art shows and have received many awards.
