I keep a rotating collection of objects on the kitchen window sill and enjoy adding and subtracting to the curation. A did this painting in the kitchen trying to capture quickly the light on the objects as well as the outside view. I wanted a loose, sketchy finish; a painting that doesn't take itself too seriously and that has an element of immediacy in the subject. The camellia outside is scraped back and abstracted, the vessel, curry pot and mug are all described briefly with the emphasis on describing the light on the forms and where the shadows are.

Artist Bio
I am inspired by form, light, colour and pattern. I paint and draw because I enjoy it and want to record what I see thatโs beautiful. I work as well and find that small paintings help me to keep painting in the gaps between my job and family life. Small paintings are also easy to post! I complete each painting in one session, always working from life.
