Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

When I asked a friend for some random co ordinates to put into Google Earth, I wound up near the Himalayas. This image became the basis for creating my colour palette and structure. This place turned out to be east of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. This is a place close to my heart as I have followed Tibetan Buddhism for much of my life. This work again, uses my flow and pour technique where I do not touch the canvas directly but rather, let water and oil based medium to interact and create the patterns that nature creates through the movement of wind, water and time. This is a vibrant work seething in movement. It has sense of natural flow and when looking into the texture up close, a flowing of minute detail. East Of Lhasa is an abstract work that is strongly connected to aerial landscape.
