Yalka desert depicts the story of Western Northern Territory (Yuelamu, Tanami Desert). The various symbols in the painting represent the natural fauna (yalka) and desert landscape from a birds eye view. The dots represent plants and fauna scattered in vertical and horizontal patterns. The U shapes represent people sitting in the desert sand. The blue colours represent colder/wet weather.
