Painted in oils. influence and inspiration for this piece was taken from the Dutch Golden Age of painting, and the baroque, and painted in a flemish technique over a grissaille underpainting. Intended to be reminiscent of a 17th century still life.
My objective was to represent romance, symbolism, and darkness, while staying connected to the methods of the Baroque era.

Artist Bio
Self taught oil painter, from Brisbane, QLD Australia. Influenced by the Baroque era, and the content and subjectivity of classical paintings. I aim to evoke romanticism, symbolism, and nostalgia as inspiration, trying to breathe modern life in to an era of art and culture which i think should be both mourned, respected, and resurrected.
