This is a typical scene in the south of Western Australia. A river flows along the edge of the property. It is filled with luscious marron, a type of crayfish living in the freshwater rivers and dams. They play a critical role in the eco system breaking down animal and plant matter. At the same time they are found on the plates of diners who enjoy this bountiful cuisine. The moon is rising above the tall woods and this is the time that marron become active and easier to trap.
