Artwork Description

My artwork captures a definitive moment of motion, focusing on the powerful flight of a female Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. By focusing on the highly detailed, structural textures of her dark plumage against a soft, impressionistic background canopy, I wanted to showcase the bird breaking through the emerald forest environment. The vibrant orange and yellow flecks across her feathers serve as a focal point, drawing attention to her unique beauty. This piece highlights the freedom and resilience of Australia's native wildlife, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate a magnificent species that faces constant pressures from habitat loss.

Artist Bio

My artwork is a story told through portraits, the powerful presence of trains, the serenity of landscapes and to the allure of seascapes. The Australian landscape, with its changeable beauty, has always held a special place in my heart. I like to explore a multitude of themes and subjects each with a unique tale to tell. However it's in the realm of wildlife art, particularly Australian birdlife, that I enjoy the most.

I paint mainly in oils and do many birds in watercolours. Thank you for reading my bio, I hope you enjoy my artwork.
