Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

I started painting Willy Wagtails after being commissioned by a person who saw one of my paintings of blue wrens in an art gallery and asked if I would create a similar painting with Willy Wagtails in it. The subject had a special meaning for her. After losing a loved one these two birds started appearing in her window and she felt this was her partner saying he was still with her. I've since discovered that Willy Wagtails hold this special meaning for many people, and the same meaning also has significance in Aboriginal culture and legend.
