Artwork Description

While it wasn’t my conscious intention, it appears this and the other three ‘Tell it to…’ paintings are a comment on the state of the environment. At first I honestly didn’t know what the faces were saying, or why many appeared to be yelling. Then it dawned on me that the mountains, sky, ocean and forests are all trying to get the attention of our politicians who are so consumed with wealth that they ignore the cries of our planet.

Please note: frames pictured are for display only. This painting is wired and ready to hang unframed.

Artist Bio

I’ve painted since I was old enough to hold a brush.. Born with a significant visual impairment, I was encouraged to draw and paint in the hope it would aid visual development. I’m not sure it did much for my eyesight, but it certainly did plenty for my spirit

Art, for me, is all about communication. Everything I paint is communicating something , whether it be a simple emotion, or a more complex thought. My artistic style encompasses: abstract, expressionism, Impressionism and surrealism. If I were to categorise myself, I would say I’m an Outsider artist. Outsider art has been described as ‘any work of art produced by an untrained idiosyncratic artist who is typically unconnected to the conventional art world.’

In addition to painting I have a number of other creative outlets. I’m a trained florist and published children’s author. I crochet and design clothing, work with clay and make jewellery.
