About
Fitzgerald's Dressing Gown.
Capturing the essence of past eras in my paintings. In this piece, a mysterious woman sits wrapped in a dressing gown, her face shrouded in mystery. To enhance a profound sense of antiquity and the passage of time, I use layers of transparent oil glazes to give a deep, aged feeling to the artwork. I want viewers to feel like they're looking at a portrait that was painted centuries ago,. The dark, rich tones add to the overall atmosphere, transporting us to a different time and place. It's like stepping into a time capsule through my art
Subject
An older artwork I painted 1999-2001. Links to, Scott Fitzgerald, an American short-story writer and novelist famous for his depictions of the Jazz Age (the 1920s), his most brilliant novel being The Great Gatsby (1925).
Was this, the woman, who triggered off Fitzgerald's main character in the story, in 1925, The Great Gatsby?
Is it the previously, innocent and naive, Daisy the morning after?
