Sensor - Ship 1
Surface quality is very important to me. My paintings consist of many layers of paint and line making. During my process I continuously scrape, wipe and sand back layers until, only a trace remains of my previous mark making.

About
In this piece, I've merged the raw textures of French stucco paint with the fluidity of acrylics. It's a journey through abstraction, where minimalism speaks loudly in subdued chaos. Every stroke is deliberate, yet it resonates with the spontaneity of life's imperfections. This isn't just a painting; it's an emotion at a moment in time.

Subject
In 2014 the the Australian landscape was a contradiction of sensor – ship , with an abundance of dense, colourful, political grit.

Layers ... worn, torn, ripped, creased, bent, scraped, sanded, stapled, glued, painted, stained and inked. Each scrap of vintage paper just as precious and and poignant as the other. Using collage, acrylic, and ink, I represented the chaos and order of nature. My use of vintage news print gives it a sense of time, suggesting narratives buried in the past, yet bursting with relevance.

Layers ... worn, torn, ripped, creased, bent, scraped, sanded, stapled, glued, painted, stained and inked. Each scrap of vintage paper just as precious and and poignant as the other. In creating this piece, I invoked the raw, emotive power of abstract and primitivist styles, using pastel, pen, ink and dyes to capture a visceral and vintage sentiment. This collage swirls with dynamic energies, of fiery reds and earthy tones that defy conventional forms, evoking a sense of ancient and a touch of timelessness.
Layers ... worn, torn, ripped, creased, bent, scraped, sanded, stapled, glued, painted, stained and inked. Each scrap of vintage paper just as precious and and poignant as the other. Creating raw textures of pastel, paint and ink, exploring abstract forms and primitivist instincts. This piece embodies a vintage soul, telling stories of time and memory through its layered chaos and earthy tones.
Layers ... worn, torn, ripped, creased, bent, scraped, sanded, stapled, glued, painted, stained and inked. Each scrap of vintage paper just as precious and and poignant as the other. In making this piece, I immersed myself in a process of creative abandonment, combining splashes of red with the mysterious shadows of black ink. I used acrylic paint and ink, letting each stain tell a part of a story veiled beneath the surface, reminiscent of vintage aesthetics.
