Artist
Jenny Davis is a Melbourne-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice examines the complexities of our world. Her work, is deeply connected to Australia’s landscapes and history, often reflects themes of urban decay, nature, and historical artifacts. Through painting, sculpture, mixed media, collage, textile art, installation and video, Jenny explores beauty, disruption, conflict, and memory, delving into the nuances of the human experience.
With an inquisitive and experimental approach, she contemplates the fragility of nature and life, as well as the transformative power of decay, loss, and renewal. Jenny frequently incorporates found objects and vintage textiles, layering them with materials like rust, ink, and stitching, creating intricate narratives in her pieces.
Her works have been exhibited internationally, including in notable venues such as International Arts Center in Barcelona, Times Square in New York, the Venice Biennale in Italy, the Museum of Shenandoah Valley, and the Center for the Arts in Escondido, USA. Jenny's art is represented in both corporate and private collections around the globe. Jenny is also a published author and prize winning artist and is represented in both corporate and private collections around the globe. Though her roots are firmly planted in Australia, Jenny has also lived intermittently in Paris, Spain, and the UK, drawing inspiration from her experiences across cultures.
Outlook8studio is where multidisciplinary artist Jenny Davis runs her arts practice from. The studio was built by Jenny from discarded and recycled materials in 2000. The studio is based in Australia, specialising in the creation of original, thought-provoking abstract paintings and artworks, striving to use materials that minimize the impact on the environment and are less harmful to the earth.
