I recently had a night away with my wife and the next day we went on quite a long hike. For most of the walk there was very little to see. Almost boring.
But at the end of the walk we climbed up a rocky outcrop and I was completely blown away! The deep valley and exposed cliffs were breathtaking.
I’m normally fairly good with heights, but with no handrail and being one step away from the edge, I found myself being very respectful of the shear drop.
The Hanging Rock in this painting is quite an experience. You have to jump over a gap to get onto it and it gets very narrow towards the end. They say to be careful it is not a windy day or you could be blown off balance.
Once I got over the initial nervousness, I just enjoyed soaking in the beauty. My wife and I really enjoyed it! I highly recommend a visit.
Well worth the effort.
In this painting I hope you will feel something of the magnitude of the landscape and feel the height the way I felt it.
God’s Creation is a constant inspiration!
