This is a portrait of the Roman Emperor Nero, based on one of many busts of him.
The portrait has been created using palette knives to create the range of tones, colours and textures.

The bright ground was painted using a brush, creating a smooth surface to contrast with the textured portrait.

Ready to hang with strong wire/d-rings on the back.
The stretcher is strong at 37mm deep and the work features a cross support bar on the back.

The edges of the canvas are a clean white.
