Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This is a portrait of the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, based on a plaster bust that was excavated in the ruins of the sculptors’ workshops at Amarna in 1913-14.
The thin, bright yellow rays represent the god Aten whom Akhenaten worshipped.
High quality Art Spectrum oils used on triple-primed canvas.
The brush was used for the black background while the palette was employed for everything else, enabling the formation of thick textures.
The sides are painted black.
Ready to hang with strong wire/d-rings on the back.
