“As an artist, metaphorically my mind is in a constant state of fusion, I keep my eyes wide open to every inch of my surroundings. Each idea, experience, emotion, combining and circulating with possibility. Perceiving the natural world through a mental process of deconstruction to navigate the colours, shapes and organic movement until something new and exciting is born. Here, a piece inspired by a recent simple yet beautiful afternoon walking the bush track near home with my children, a path I’ve taken so many times and know so well. Extracting the essence of the landscape to elevate and evolve a fleeting moment into an abstract interpretation; a fusion.”

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Jessie Beard is an abstract landscape painter from Old Bar, Biripi Country, NSW. Her works are observations of nature, with a particular interest in the rejuvenation and constant changes occurring within her local region. Jessie’s artistic process begins with experience, immersing into her surroundings, documenting and savouring what can be carried through the start to finish journey of an artwork. Through euphoric interpretations that accentuate colour, movement and layering until fine detail, a piece can reveal the many stories bound to a landscape of both the physical environment and personal memories.
Jessie graduated with Distinction in both her Associate Degree in Creative Arts and Design, and Diploma of Visual Arts, and has work in private collections across Australia and overseas.
