I painted this picture shortly after an outback trip from Perth to the Karajini National Park in the Pilbara area in WA. It was September and the wildflowers were in abundance. We saw fields of colour on the red sand on the side of the road. Numbats are marsupials endemic to Western Australia. A wonderful memory of an impressive adventurous holiday.

The exotic flora and fauna that inhabit my work is a direct response to this captivating world around me. For me‚ creating art is a natural and intimate process which keeps my work fresh and spontaneous.
