Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
This painting was inspired by a visit to Ellensbrook house in the Margaret River region. It is set in a stunning coastal landscape surrounded by lush forest. Built in 1857 it has rich historical and cultural significance, connected to early settlers of the region and the traditional Wadandi people. While painting it, I couldn't help but wonder how the original custodians of this land felt when their neighbours started building.
