Artwork Description

This watercolour painting recently won an award at the Melville Art Awards. It captures a tender moment between a parent and child at one of myfavourite locations, Bicton Baths. The piece explores themes of family, memory, and discovery, reflecting on how everyday moments become treasured memories. Using the fluid, light-filled qualities of watercolour, I've aimed to convey the warmth of the afternoon sun, the glistening water, and the peaceful energy of this beloved location. The contrast of shadow and light reflects both the passage of time and the grounding presence of nature in our shared human experience.
